About BudgetBite
BudgetBite is an independent iPhone app made by Aymene Mazouzi. It does one job: plan a week of dinners that fits the money you have for groceries.
How prices work
Each ingredient has an estimated cost for the amount the recipe uses, based on average US grocery prices (November 2026). A dinner's price is the sum of its ingredients, and the price per serving divides that by the servings the recipe makes. When you plan a week, BudgetBite scales those costs to your household and checks the total against your cap.
These are estimates. Your store, region and sales will move them, which is why the app also lets you mark what's in your pantry and keeps a running total.
How nutrition works
Calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, fiber, sugar and sodium are computed from each recipe's ingredients against USDA FoodData Central, then divided by servings. They are estimates for planning, not medical advice.
How recipes are checked
Every dinner went through a full review in October 2026: ingredients, amounts and steps were compared against published recipes for the same dish and corrected where they differed.
